# Admin guide: getting started with Edward

> How brokerage admins set up Edward, manage documents, and give their team access to cited underwriting answers.

Edward is your brokerage's AI underwriting assistant. Your team asks underwriting questions in plain language (coverage eligibility, carrier appetite, surcharges, exclusions) and Edward answers in seconds, with the carrier rule **cited back to the source document**. Every answer is grounded in your carriers' own manuals and policy documents, never in guesswork.

This guide is for **brokerage admins**: the person who manages the workspace, controls who can access it, and keeps the document library current.

## How onboarding works

Getting started with Edward is **white-glove**. Your General Magic contact does the heavy setup for you, so you don't touch any technical configuration:

<Steps>
  <Step title="You share your documents and carrier access">
    You provide your carrier underwriting manuals and policy documents, and the carrier access needed to keep them current.
  </Step>

  <Step title="We build your workspace">
    We create your brokerage workspace, set up your admin account, and ingest and verify your documents so they're ready to search.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You take over the day-to-day">
    Once your workspace is live, you invite your team, control what each person can see, and manage your document library from the admin dashboard.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  There's no self-serve signup. Your General Magic contact provisions your workspace and hands you an admin login. If you don't have one yet, reach out to your contact to get started.
</Note>

## What you're responsible for as an admin

Once your workspace is set up, three things are yours to manage:

    Understand what we need from you and what your admin account gives you.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Invite your team" icon="users" href="/edward/admin/team-access">
    Add brokers and control which carriers, products, and regions each can access.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Manage documents" icon="folder-open" href="/edward/admin/documents">
    Keep your underwriting library accurate, current, and correctly scoped.
  </Card>

  Your team members don't need this guide. Point them to the [Broker guide](/edward/broker/overview) for how to ask questions and read answers.
