Setup is a partnership: you provide the documents and carrier access, and General Magic turns them into a searchable, verified underwriting library. This page explains who does what.

What we need from you

To build your workspace, share the following with your General Magic contact:
1

Your carrier documents

The underwriting manuals and policy documents your team relies on today. These become the authoritative source Edward answers from.
2

Supporting documents

Bulletins, payment plans, and policy wordings that update or supplement your manuals. Edward treats newer documents as overriding older ones.
3

Carrier access

The access needed to keep your documents current over time, so your library doesn’t drift out of date.
4

Your team's structure

Who needs access, and which carriers, products, and regions each person works with. This lets us pre-scope access before your team logs in.

What we set up for you

Behind the scenes, your General Magic contact:
  • Creates your brokerage workspace: an isolated environment that only your team can see.
  • Creates your admin account: the first account, with full admin rights.
  • Ingests your documents: each document is processed, indexed, and tagged with its carrier, product, region, and date.
  • Verifies your documents: a person reviews each document’s details before it goes live. A document only becomes searchable once it’s verified.
Verification is what keeps Edward trustworthy. Until a document is reviewed and marked verified, it won’t appear in any answer, so your team never gets an answer from an unchecked source.

Accessing your admin account

Once your workspace is ready, you’ll receive an invitation to sign in. Your admin account lets you:
  • Invite and manage your team
  • Set what each broker can access
  • Upload and manage documents
  • See the full document library for your brokerage

Next: invite your team

Add brokers and assign each one the right carriers, products, and regions.
