Edward is your underwriting wingman. Instead of digging through carrier manuals, you ask a question in plain language and get an answer in seconds, with the exact carrier rule cited back to the source document, so you can trust it and show your work. This guide is for brokers: producers, CSRs, and anyone who answers underwriting questions day to day.

Watch: using Edward

What Edward does for you

  • Answers underwriting questions: coverage eligibility, carrier appetite, surcharges, exclusions, and more.
  • Cites its sources: every answer links to the carrier document and rule it came from.
  • Stays honest: Edward answers only from your documents, not from memory. If it doesn’t have a document that covers your question, it tells you rather than guessing.

Signing in

You’ll receive an email invitation from your brokerage admin. Follow the link to set up your account and sign in. From then on, you can open Edward and start asking questions right away.
If you didn’t get an invite or can’t sign in, contact your brokerage admin, who manages access for your team.

What you can see

Your admin assigns you a set of carriers, products, and regions based on your book. Edward answers from the documents within that scope, plus any shared documents your brokerage has made available. If you need access to a carrier or region you don’t currently have, ask your admin.
